Power Train
The SC805 power train delivers fast response and aggressive performance in tough applications. The system has been designed to provide optimum performance and durability combined with unequalled fuel efficiency per metre of fill compacted.
Caterpillar power train components are used exclusively in the SC805 and include:
- 3056E ATAAC electronically controlled direct injection six cylinder engine.
- 3F/3R powershift transmission, with high-contact ratio gears and electronic clutch pressure control for smooth shifts.
- Heavy duty axles. Front axle is fixed, rear axle oscillates up to 11 degrees.
- Inboard oil-disc brakes feature a nitrogen accumulator secondary circuit.
- Parking brake is a mechanical shoe type brake mounted to the driveline which neutralises the transmission upon activation.
- Heavy duty powertrain guards are standard and help protect components from damage.
